Thai Law Online is an independent educational publisher. We write plain-English explainers about how Thai law works, aimed at foreigners living in or dealing with Thailand and at Thais who want an accessible overview in English.

What this site is — and is not

• We are not a law firm, we do not take clients, and nothing here is legal advice.
• Guides describe the general shape of Thai law. Details — fees, thresholds, deadlines — change, and individual cases turn on their facts.
• Where we state figures (interest caps, quotas, time limits) they reflect well-established rules, but you should always verify the current position before relying on them.

Sources we rely on

• The Civil and Commercial Code, Criminal Code, Land Code and related acts.
• Official bodies: the Courts of Justice, the Council of State (consolidated statutes), the Lawyers Council of Thailand, the Department of Business Development, and Thai Immigration.
• Where a topic is fast-moving (cannabis regulation, visa programmes), we say so and point you to the current official source.
